Obituaries

 

Alistair Lang

It is with great sadness that we have heard that Alistair passed away on Monday 20th January.

Alistair was a long time member of Oak Hill Bowls Club and a lifelong supporter of Hertfordshire Bowls.

He will be sadly missed by his bowling friends.

His Funeral will be on Wednesday 5th February at 12 noon at New Southgate Crematorium, Brunswick Park Road,

 New Southgate, N11 1JJ.

Afterwards, light refreshments will be served at East Barnet British Legion, 38 Brookhill Road, Barnet, EN4 8SL.

Alice Biggs (nee Sexton)

It is with much sadness that we have heard that Alice Biggs has passed away aged 90.

Alice was a long time member of Berkhamsted Bowls Club, she was a County player (one of the

first at Berkhamsted to gain her points).  She was still playing competitively in District and Club level last season.

She will be sadly missed by her bowling friends.

Her funeral will be at 13.15 on Thursday 6th February at Amersham Crematorium followed by light

refreshments at Berkhamsted BC.  The family have requested smart casual wear with some bright colours.

Roger Carter

It is with great sadness that we have heard that Roger Carter has passed away.

Roger was a member of Hatfield Bowls Club for some 40 years, he was appointed a Director of the

Club in 1987 when it became a Limited Company.  He was an excellent South Division Secretary from 2009-2017.

He was EIBA President in 2002/3, he had been the backbone of the Dennyside Association for many

years as Assistant Secretary, Treasurer and Match Secretary and Annual Tour Organiser.

 

He was also a Committee Member of Hatfield Indoor Bowls Club for many years and was

a great supporter of Hertfordshire Inddor Bowls and Outdoor Bowls.
