Obituaries

It s with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of the following

members of Hertfordshire Bowls.

Sincere condolences are sent to their families at this difficult time.

Roy Dobinson

Roy passed away on the 22nd April at the age of 95.

He was a long time member of Metropolitan Bushey and was affectionately known

as 'Grandad'.  He was a County bowler for both Middlesex and Hertfordshire

and a regular tourist on the Hertfordshire County Tours.

His funeral will take place at 11am on Tuesday 27th May at Hendon Crematorium,

Holders Hill Road, NW7 1NB, followed by a reception at Century Bowls Club,

51/53, Logan Road, Wembley, HA9 8PY.

To assist with catering, if you are intending to attend the reception please email

graham.f.searle@gmail.com or Text/Whatsapp 07802 2722588.

Tony Barr

Tony passed away suddenly on the 26th April.

He was an active member of Herts BC, regularly competing in National,

County & District competitions. Tony represented Hertfordshire on many occasions.

'The funeral of Tony Barr is at 2pm on Friday 23rd May at St Mary's Church,

Church Hill, Harefield, Uxbridge, UB9 6DU, then onto Harefield Football Club

to celebrate his life.  He will be leaving the village at 1.30pm for those who would

like to walk with him to the Church.  He will be there at 1.20pm for those who

would like to say a final goodbye before the procession.  There is no dress code,

he was a colourful man who always wore loud shirts and really hated anything

black so please feel free to add some colour even if it's a bowls shirt which is

something he really loved.

I can't believe I'm writing this message and am truly heartbroken.

Thanks everyone.
